Attention - Billing Notice for Bell Canada Customers

It has come to our attention that data transmitted to Bell Canada for certain calls made between November 26th and December 30, 2008, lists the Duration column as one tenth of the true duration of each phone call.

This was caused by a human error on our part and as a result, the Duration column listed on Bell Canada bills for any affected calls is much shorter than the actual time spent on the phone (for example a 26 minute long call is printed as 3 minutes long and a 1 hour long call is printed as 6 minutes). We have investigated this error and determined that no other columns reported on your telephone bill have been affected.

Specifically the date, time, number dialed and price have all been correctly transmitted and billed.

Bell Canada is working with Speak Telecom to correct the Duration column for as many customers as possible and consequently not all call details will be affected. Depending on when your telephone bill is prepared the Duration columns may already be corrected.

In no circumstances have any calls been overcharged. It is only the Duration column which appears on your telephone bill which is incorrect. The cost of the each call and all applicable taxes are shown correctly.
